Who can apply?

Any U.S. citizen who owns a horse(s) or is involved in the equine community may be eligible to apply.  Breakaway From Cancer is open to all disciplines of equine activity.

Can I apply for a friend?

You may bring our program to your friend’s attention; however, the applicant must be the cancer patient or the legal guardian of a minor cancer patient.

How do I apply?

How can I help or volunteer?

Breakaway From Cancer is always looking for new ways to fundraise!  Feel free to bring us your ideas!

What is the Guiding Light Grant Program?

Breakaway From Cancer’s “Guiding Light Grant Program” provides financial assistance to U.S. citizens in the equine community currently battling cancer.

What is the definition of Equine Community?

Breakaway From Cancer defines “equine community” as individuals who own a horse(s); or are involved in equine activities.

What qualifies as an Equine Activity? 

Below are some examples of equine activities - but are not limited to:

  • Show producers

  • Livestock contractors

  • Competitors

  • Equine organization members

  • Ranchers
