“Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.”- Roger Crawford

When you are used to living life in the fast lane as a horse trainer, specializing in barrel racing, it’s hard to understand how to slow down when life throws you speed bumps and barriers that change your course of travel, from what you had planned. This is exactly what, renowned rider and trainer, Marne Loosenort had happen, just a short time ago.

She’s tough, gritty, genuine and a little stubborn but her determination and drive to succeed continue to carry her through. Marne Loosenort has won countless barrel races and rodeos across the country through her years of riding and training. She trains her own, as well as outside horses from clients that continue their winning ways with their owners. The love of the horse is what keeps her fire alive and helping them achieve their own greatness is a thrill like no other for her.

Marne had been feeling off for a few months, but with the wicked germs of winter, she didn’t think much of it. It, finally, had slowed her down enough to go see a doctor. Several blood draws and a CT scan later, confirming a diagnosis of stage three cervical cancer. This news was enough to bring anyone to a halt, some may even crumble, but not Marne- she’s fighting. She has a long road ahead of her with chemo, radiation and immunotherapy treatments but this is just going to be a detour along Marne’s path.  She’s already counting down the days until she can be back in the arena, laying down another winning run.
